“Vibrational spectroscopy” is the technique that measures the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with the vibrational movements of a molecular system. Any system that contains atoms linked together has vibrational movements, from diatomic molecules to biological systems and the most diverse materials. Therefore, the various vibrational spectroscopy techniques are widely used both in the characterization of systems and in chemical analysis. These applications currently extend to medical imaging.
